The office does not provide personal attendant care or services of a personal nature; nor does the Office provide equipment or devices of a personal nature.

It is the students’ responsibility to notify their instructors of classroom accommodations that they are receiving.

A Place to Belong

South Suburban College’s Office of Services for Students with Disabilities provides assistance to students with permanent disabilities to ensure equal access to all college programs.

If you register late or make changes to your schedule that require changes to your accommodations request, expect a minimum of three weeks to process the new request for accommodation. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the specialist when you make any changes to your schedule.

Students with disabilities are provided with assistance during registration. Services available include:

  • career counseling
  • class selection
  • priority registration
  • graduation review

Other services such as classroom accommodation and tutoring may be available. Student is required to sign the accommodation service log to verify that the accommodation was received. The student is also required to fill out a student feedback form at least once a semester to insure and improve the quality of accommodation received. A minimum of three days advanced notice is required for students requesting accommodations for test proctoring.
