Hispanic Heritage Month Event-"Transformation"

Presented by Sergio Gomez, SSC Art Instructor
In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, students, faculty and staff can attend a Live Art Performance by award-winning SSC Art Instructor Sergio Gomez. Accompanied by renowned Flamenco Guitarist Mehran, Mr. Gomez will take the audience through a unique visual narrative of the art making process. Drawing from his personal experience, Professor Gomez will explore aspects of change and cultural assimilation. There will be refreshments served following the program.

What do you really know about HIV/Aids and how can drugs and alcohol play a pivotal role in acquiring this disease? Health Educator from SSHARK, Brian Taylor will speak about how to avoid this powerful disease and will answer some of your questions. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to this informative session.

SSC Evening Chorale Concert

SSC's premiere 70 member choral group, directed by Al Jackson. From Mozart to Moses Hogan, the Chorale will range across a broad spectrum of sacred music, including the lovely "Wedding Cantata" of American composer Daniel Pinkham. Admission to the concert is free.

SSC Evening Chorale Concert at St. Victor's Church

553 Hirsch Avenue, Calumet City, IL.
SSC's premiere 70 member choral group, directed by Al Jackson. Come experience the splendor of Christmas as the Chorale and orchestra presents its ninth annual Christmas concert in the glorious visual and acoustic spaces of St. Victor Catholic Church, 553 Hirsch Avenue, Calumet City, IL. We will celebrate Christmas around the world, with songs and carols from North and South America, Hispaniola, Africa, Russia, and Europe. Featured in the concert is the beautiful Bach Cantata "How Brightly Shines the Morning Star," performed with orchestra and soloists. There is even opportunity for the audience to join us in some seasonal singing! Admission to the concert is free.
