Patricia Chase Magon Journalism Scholarships

Overview

Two (2) Patricia Chase Magon Journalism Scholarships offer $1,000 awards to two deserving students studying journalism. The scholarships are to be awarded in the Spring and funds are intended to be used for books, tuition and fees for the following Fall and/or Spring semesters. Qualities of leadership and service to the local community will be considered in selection.

The Patricia Chase Magon Journalism Scholarship is sponsored by Dr. John Magon and other generous donors.

Eligibility

• Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
• May be a full or part-time student.
• Must submit a one page, typed narrative stating your career goals.
• Must submit a letter of recommendation.
• Must submit most recent high school or college transcript.
• Preference given to South Holland residents.
• South Suburban College staff, Foundation directors or Board of Trustees members are not eligible.
