Overview
The Sean Laura Scholarship will recognize a South Suburban College student who is studying criminal justice, court reporting, or in the paralegal program. The $750 scholarship award will cover educational costs such as tuition, fees, and books at South Suburban College.
Eligibility
- Preference given to any police officer who has become disabled as defined by the pension board of the officers police department. The applicant may be the spouse or child of a police officer killed or permanently disabled as a result of injuries received in the line of duty or the spouse or child of an active police officer. The applicant must supply proof. These candidates may be studying in any curriculum.
- Must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
- May be either a full or part-time student.
- Must have completed a minimum of nine credit hours.
- Must be enrolled in a program leading to an Associate degree.
- Preference is given to students who are not receiving other financial aid.
- South Suburban College Alumni and Foundation directors, Board of Trustees members and their dependents are not eligible.
