John Slager Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Overview

The John Slager, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is a $750 monetary award applicable to tuition, fees, books and related instructional costs at South Suburban College. The scholarship is awarded to a returning adult student of South Suburban College to continue a specific program of study leading to employment or providing a first step toward Bachelors degree completion at a senior college or university. Qualities of leadership and service to the local community as well as evidence of good academic performance will be considered in selection.

Eligibility

• Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours for the current Spring semester.
• Must have completed at least 12 credit hours with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
• Must enroll for a minimum of nine credit hours for the upcoming Fall semester.
• Must have a declared major and/or be enrolled in a specific program leading to a certificate or degree.
• Preference given to applicants who are not receiving other financial aid or employer subsidy.
• Must be a resident of District 510.
