SSC Foundation High School Scholarships

Overview

The SSC Foundation High School Scholarship Program will award up to a total of 36 scholarships each Spring/Summer to incoming high school graduates. Three $750 scholarships are available to graduating seniors at each of the 12 high schools within Community College District 510. Students will be selected by the Foundation Scholarship Committee based on academic excellence, leadership ability, and sound character as determined from the application packet. Preference will be given to students in Tech Prep programs, but this is not required. Scholarships that are not utilized at one high school may be transferred to students from another high school to accommodate additional applicants after the initial deadline of March 27, 2009.

Eligibility

• Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.
• Must submit a recommendation letter from a high school or technology educational instructor.
• South Suburban College staff, Foundation directors, Board of Trustees members and their dependents are not eligible.
• Preference given to applicants who are not receiving other financial aid or employer subsidy.
