Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce Ron Milnes Scholarship

Overview

The purpose of the Ron Milnes Scholarship is to provide $300 to a student with financial need to help pay for in-district tuition, fees and/or books during study at South Suburban College. Scholarship proceeds may be used at South Suburban College for the term in which they are awarded. Students will not receive cash, and the scholarship is not transferable to other institutions.

Eligibility

• May be a new or continuing student who is currently or previously enrolled.
• Must be enrolled in, or plan to enroll in, a certificate or degree program at South Suburban College.
• Must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0, Transcripts/GED test scores should be submitted with application.
• Must show financial need by providing copies of 2007 income tax return or of untaxed income.
• Must include a one-page essay on how the applicant will use their education to improve the world in the future.
• Must include one letter of recommendation.
